The Vault

Well, it’s official! The café has been named “The Vault” after winning the vote from staff and students. The reason the name “The Vault” came up in the first place is because the building that the café is in used to be a bank, and actually has two legitimate old school vaults which are pretty cool. The vault can also represent a number of things; it is a mine rich in gems as Baha’u’llah says:

“Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.” This theme really encapsulates the goal of the café.

If you missed the video and song that we created about the creation of The Vault, make sure to check it out here: These Walls

Things have been moving ahead in The Vault, and the space is really starting to take shape which is very exciting. It is a very collaborative effort. Students and staff are all contributing ideas and these are all mixing together into a vibrant cocktail of life and community. Here are a few photos from this week.

O blessed, blessed night! I am afeard.
Being in night, all this is but a dream,
Too flattering-sweet to be substantial.
